We founded Rhino after the Eaton Fire came within blocks of Michael's family home in January 2025. After seeing friends and family lose their homes, struggle to maintain insurance, or get overwhelmed by where to even start, we decided there had to be a better way.

As we researched the space, we met homeowners who were determined to feel prepared and in control of their own risk, investing in adaptation through Home Depot trips and DIY hours. These conversations became the foundation of what we're building at Rhino: a company that can flip the script for homeowners, helping them feel empowered against the challenge of climate risk, not at a loss for what to do.

Our initial inspiration to build Rhino also happens to be our ultimate motivation -- a desire to protect the places we call home. We're excited for Rhino to give communities the security and peace of mind they deserve, through simple, delightful software that leads to planned, thoughtful investment in adaptation.
