James Ingram grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, learning the plastering trade at an early age while working alongside his dad and some of the best craftsmen in the business. That foundation, combined with a love of history and historic preservation, shaped his career and passion for restoring and protecting Mississippi’s architectural treasures.

After years of experience on his father’s crews, James launched J Ingram Plastering and Construction, focusing on residential work while also contributing to major restoration projects like St. Mary Basilica in Natchez, the McCarty-Holman home, Duling Hall, and the Capri Theatre. He takes pride in helping Realtors® and homeowners prepare properties for the market, often joking that his motto is “fixing what your husband can’t since 2013.”

James comes from an entrepreneurial family—his wife, Victoria, runs a successful printing and custom design business, while he continues to build his own reputation across the state. A proud dad, he celebrates his daughter Kaytlen’s achievements at Ole Miss and supports his stepdaughter Makeena at Hartfield Academy.

When he’s not on the job, James enjoys playing guitar, spending time outdoors, and being active with his family at First Baptist Church in Jackson.
